By accessing or using time-online.net ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access or use the Service.

1. Disclaimer of Liability

This includes, but is not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. In no case shall aggregate liability exceed service fees paid to time-online.net. You explicitly acknowledge that data may be incorrect for politically disputed jurisdictions. Time-online.net strives to have a neutral opinion in these cases. The site does not warrant adopting a specific opinion, however.

1.1 Time Accuracy Disclaimer

While we strive to provide accurate time information, we cannot guarantee absolute accuracy of time data. Time discrepancies may occur due to network latency, device clock variations, or other technical factors. Users should not rely on the Service for mission-critical timing where precise accuracy is essential.

1.2 Alarm, Timer, Stopwatch, and Notification Reliability

The alarm, timer, stopwatch, and notification features are provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee that alarms or timers will trigger at the exact specified time or trigger at all, or that stopwatch measurements will be perfectly accurate, if your device enters sleep mode, loses internet connection, or experiences other technical limitations. Users should not rely on these features for critical applications where failure or inaccuracy could result in harm, loss, or damage.

2. Use of Material

Use of material on time-online.net is for your own personal and non-commercial use only. You acknowledge that, as between the site and you, time-online.net is the sole owner of all content on the site. This includes without limitation, all applicable copyrights, patents, trademarks, service marks, trade secrets, trade names, logos, and other intellectual property rights thereto. It includes all text, images, graphics, logos, audio, video, and other material appearing on time-online.net.

2.1 Commercial Use

You may use time-online.net's services within your business/company. You may not resell, sub-license, lease or rent the obtained data to any other party.

2.2 API and Automated Access

Unless explicitly authorized in writing, you may not use automated means, scripts, bots, crawlers, or other programmatic methods to access, scrape, or extract data from the Service. Any authorized API usage is subject to rate limits and may be revoked at any time at our sole discretion.

3. Acceptable Use Policy

Users of time-online.net agree not to:

• Use the Service in any way that causes, or may cause, damage to the Service or impairment of the availability or accessibility of the Service
• Use the Service in any way that is unlawful, illegal, fraudulent, or harmful
• Use the Service for any purpose related to marketing without our express written consent
• Conduct any systematic or automated data collection activities on or in relation to the Service without our express written consent
• Use the Service to transmit any automated bulk communications (spam)
• Use the Service for any applications that could impact health, safety, or cause damage if timing errors occur
• Attempt to bypass any measures we may use to prevent or restrict access to the Service

4. Service Limitations

Our Service has the following limitations which may be changed without notice:

• Time synchronization requests may be limited to a reasonable number per user per hour
• Use of alarms and timers may be limited to a reasonable number per user
• Geolocation features use IP-based location detection which may not be accurate in all areas and may be affected by VPN usage, proxy servers, or your Internet Service Provider's network configuration
• The Service may temporarily become unavailable for maintenance or due to technical issues

5. Data Protection

See our privacy policy for details of how your personally identifiable information is collected and stored. Your information or email address will neither be sold nor distributed to any third party. It will only be shared with vendors working on our behalf for technical purposes.

5.1 Geolocation Data

When you use our geolocation features to determine local time, your location data is processed temporarily for the purpose of providing the service. We do not store historical location data unless explicitly stated in our privacy policy.

6. Third Party Advertising

You will see advertising material submitted by third parties on time-online.net. Each individual advertiser is solely responsible for the content of its advertising material. We accept no responsibility for the content of advertising material, including, without limitation, any error, omission, or inaccuracy therein.

7. Termination Rights

We reserve the right to terminate or restrict your access to the Service at our sole discretion, without notice, for any or no reason whatsoever, including if we believe you have violated these Terms and Conditions. We may block IP addresses or take other technical measures to enforce these terms.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless time-online.net, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees) arising from: (i) your use of and access to the Service; (ii) your violation of any term of these Terms and Conditions; or (iii) your violation of any third party right, including without limitation any copyright, property, or privacy right.

9. Force Majeure

Time-online.net shall not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations where such failure is as a result of acts of nature, power failures, internet service provider failures, or any other failure beyond our reasonable control.

10. Changes to Terms and Conditions

We may change these terms and conditions from time to time at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to do so without your consent. You should check these terms and conditions regularly for changes. Your continued use of time-online.net after any changes have been made will constitute your acceptance of the new terms and conditions. You must stop using time-online.net immediately if you do not agree to the new terms and conditions.

11. Applicable Laws and Jurisdiction

(a) The laws of the Republic of Finland (without giving effect to its conflicts of law principles) govern all matters arising out of or relating to this agreement and the transactions it contemplates. This includes without limitation its interpretation, construction, validity, performance (including the details of performance), and enforcement.

(b) A party bringing a legal action or proceeding against the other party arising out of or relating to this agreement or the transactions it contemplates must bring the legal action or proceeding in any court of the Republic of Finland. Each party to this agreement consents to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Finland and its appellate courts, for the purpose of all legal actions and proceedings arising out of or relating to this agreement or the transactions it contemplates.

11.1 Severability

Should any provision of this agreement be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be removed from the agreement without affecting the rest of the terms and conditions of use. All remaining provisions will continue to be valid and enforceable.

11.2 Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from these Terms and Conditions shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation, it shall be resolved through the courts of Finland as described in section 11(b).
